Hello,
As a player who has been part of the 4Story community since 2009, I have seen the game change in many ways. Today, we all know that the biggest threat to 4Story's survival is the cheating issue. Since a purely software-based (Anti-cheat) solution hasn't been implemented for years, I would like to propose a structural and administrative solution that Gameforge can implement independently of the developer (Zemi).
The goal is simple: Make cheating so difficult, time-consuming, and expensive that it is no longer worth doing.
The Proposal: A Three-Step Firewall
1. Restricted Character Creation on Main Servers
Most cheaters use "throwaway" accounts. We propose disabling new character creation on high-population/main servers (e.g., Server 1).
• New players would be required to start on Sub-servers.
• This immediately isolates the core player base from the constant influx of low-level cheaters.
2. Level 90 Requirement for Character Transfers
To protect the integrity of the main servers, we should utilize the existing Character Transfer system on the website.
• Moving a character from a sub-server to the main server should only be possible if the character is Level 90 or above.
• Since the transfer infrastructure already exists on the 4Story website, adding a "Level 90" check is a minor modification that does not require deep game engine coding.
• Why it works: Cheaters do not like to "grind" or spend days leveling up an account that might get banned. This creates a massive time barrier.
3. Securing Global Areas (Battle of Worlds & Battle Ground)
Currently, when a player enters a global area for the first time, the game asks them to choose a global name for free. This function must be disabled.
• The "First Time Free" name entry function should be deactivated.
• Players must be required to use a Global Name Change Scroll to enter the Battle of Worlds or Battle Ground for the very first time.
• The Deterrent: Increase the price of the Global Name Change Scroll to a significant amount of Moonstones (e.g., 1000 Moonstones).
• This forces cheaters to either spend a large amount of Gold or real currency, making their "business model" unsustainable.
Why Gameforge Can (and Should) Do This:
• Zero Development Cost: These changes involve database values and website scripts, which are under Gameforge’s control. No need for Zemi to write new code for the game client.
• Economic Benefit: Increasing the utility and price of Scrolls/Transfers turns a security measure into a revenue stream.
• Player Retention: Protecting the main servers will bring back veteran players who left due to the unfair environment.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately, the only way to purge 4Story of cheaters is to keep them away from populated servers and create a deterrent by requiring them to spend resources. I would appreciate it if other players shared their thoughts. To the management team: Could you please forward this proposal to the company?
Best regards
