We already informed you about the ‘Payment Services Directive 2’ (PSD2) last year and the associated introduction of ‘Strong Customer Authentication’ for credit card payments and other bank-based payment options.
In short: credit card payments via the internet will be more secure. To this end, new authentication methods have been and will be implemented. Some banks require, for example, confirmation of the payment with a PIN on one of your other devices.
As of 1st January 2021, this method will be mandatory at all banks.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
The issuer of your credit card should already have notified you about how the process works. This may vary from country to country and bank to bank. Should you have any problems with credit card payments, we recommend that you first contact the bank which issued your card. If your bank cannot help you, please contact our Billing Support. We will attempt to assist you to the best of our abilities.
